The New Moon/Solar Eclipse occurs at 20°02’ on Wednesday August 12, 2026 at 1:37pm in New York, USA. There are no strong aspects to the New Moon but there are a quite a few planetary parties happening. New Moons are about initiation, beginnings and the new cycle of the moon. It is the time to start projects and plan your trajectory towards your goal. Plant now the seeds of future successes. New moons are more emotionally balanced than full moons and last for the two weeks preceding the full moon. Since this is a Solar Eclipse the effects will engage for the next six months. Solar Eclipses accent the shadow side of life and orient us to make adjustments to refresh, restore and realign ourselves and our life intent.
IDENTITY REFRESH
A Solar Eclipse happens when the Sun and Moon are at the same degree of a sign, like a New Moon, but the energetic effects are stronger and can be present for about 6 months. The Moon moves directly between the Sun and Earth. This blocks the light of the Sun and casts a shadow on Earth. This phenomenon has had many interpretations from ominous to auspicious. If you break it down: the Sun rules identity, ego and strength like the sign of Leo which is likened to the Sun. Then the nurturing, new cycle of the Moon brings up questions about what is needed to support a healthy ego, strength and identity. A good question to ask your self is, “How have I eclipsed myself and my intent?” Sometimes we get caught up in responding and reacting to all that is happening in the world that we lose sight of the creator within and our inner child. Our originality loses shine and playfulness declines. Our sparkling intent fades to a mere shadow of possibility due to all the media, digital chatter and societal expectations that eclipse it. The Solar Eclipse helps remind us of the light of our truth and the shadows we allow ourselves to be lost in. Maybe you fell back into some old, bad habits? This is that personal wakeup call to refresh your identity. A conjunction and eclipse can go either way. A warning or an opportunity may arise to clue you in. Go back to the self, inwards for answers. Self-acceptance, creative self-expression, exercise and entertainment are elements the Sun thrives on. The Moon can nurture these with healthy food, community engagement and restorative sleep. Add to this Solar Eclipse/new cycle energy the other planetary interactions and we have quite a powerful trajectory for change. Uranus, Venus and Pluto will form a grand trine in the air signs bringing in a refreshing breeze for change. This engages part of the Magic Triangle that has been in formation with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto that are making way for freedom, new visions and reform. There’s also another magic triangle happening between Uranus, Mercury and Venus which opens up brilliant ideas, communication and successful collaborations. There’s also a Mystic Rectangle formed by Mercury, Venus, Neptune and Pluto which will help clear facts from feelings and open up debate and from relationships that are advantageous. All in all this entire mystical mélange of heavenly orbs can open up both dialogue and disputes on laws and personal opinions politically, creatively and personally. It’s definitely a meaningful time to start that project and research the facts and well as add personal flare and originality. Be bold and be your beautiful self!
